In an interview with The Nation’s Assistant Entertainment Editor, Gbenga Bada, Lateef Adedimeji shared insights into his latest film, Lisabi, and his personal life.
When asked why he opted for a historical epic over a typical feel-good movie, Lateef explained, “I’m deeply passionate about culture, customs, and traditions. Nigerians celebrate heroes, yet we often overlook our own. Unfortunately, many Nigerians are unaware of their stories and history.”
He talked about his love for biopics, “I’m trying to create a niche for myself in that line and just do biopics of people who have been, those who are no more, and all of that”.
Lateef most Importantly revealed that the casting decision for Lisabi was a collaborative effort between himself, his wife, and the movie’s director.
“I want to stand out by playing main characters in biopics”- Lateef Adedimeji
