Gabrielle Union has provided a positive update on her husband, NBA legend Dwyane Wade, after he underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his kidney. During an appearance on The View on Thursday, February 27, Union confirmed that Wade is now cancer-free following the surgery, which took place on December 18, 2023. The basketball star had revealed in a January episode of The WY Network podcast that doctors removed 40% of his right kidney during the procedure.
When asked by co-host Sunny Hostin if Wade is doing better now, Union responded, “Yes, he’s had the surgery and he’s cancer-free, but it was a challenge.” Fans are relieved to hear the good news and continue to support Wade as he recovers and moves forward after this health scare.
