Naomi Osaka just picked up her first trophy since becoming a mom, and it’s giving all the comeback feels. The 27-year-old tennis star won the L’Open 35 de Saint-Malo in France on Sunday, May 4 her first tournament win in over three years, and her very first on a clay court.
What makes this win even more special? Naomi herself once thought clay was her toughest surface. “Kinda ironic to win my first trophy back on the surface that I thought was my worst,” she shared on social media. “There’s always room to grow and evolve.” After taking a break from tennis to welcome her daughter Shai in 2023, this victory marks a beautiful turning point in her journey back to the top.
Naomi’s win has already boosted her WTA ranking and reminded the world what she’s made of.
