Talented Nigerian singer Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has revealed why he primarily sings in Yoruba.
During an interactive session with his fans on Instagram, he explained that although he can sing in English, he feels more comfortable singing in his native dialect, Yoruba.
Despite singing in his dialect, Asake is making waves and has been nominated once for the Grammy Awards.
His popular song ‘Amapiano’, which is mainly sung in Yoruba, was recognized with a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards.
