How Wizkid got the name – Banky W

Music mogul Banky W recently took a trip down memory lane. In an interview with Intel Region, he revealed the origin story of Wizkid’s stage name, Wiz.

As the founder of Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), Banky played a pivotal role in launching Wizkid’s career, signing him to his record label and nurturing his talent.

Banky W fondly recalled Wizkid’s early days, affectionately labeling him a “studio rat” due to his relentless drive and dedication to honing his craft.

Despite struggling to afford studio time, Wizkid’s passion and potential shone through, captivating Banky and ultimately leading to his signing with EME.
