Jennifer Garner Honors Her Childhood Teachers for Shaping Her Life

Jennifer Garner remembers the librarian who published her first story and the dance teacher who taught her discipline

Jennifer Garner is reminding us all to celebrate the educators who helped shape us. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, the actress shared a touching Instagram tribute to two women who deeply impacted her childhood: her elementary school librarian, Annyce McCann, and her dance teacher, Nina Denton Pasinetti. “Never miss an opportunity to thank a teacher who shaped you,” she wrote, sharing heartfelt throwbacks and sweet stories about how these women helped her fall in love with storytelling, books, discipline, and movement.

She recalled how Ms. McCann even published a short story she wrote in first grade and gave it a place in the school library. Meanwhile, Ms. Denton instilled values like integrity and physical confidence that Garner still carries into her work today. It’s not the first time Garner has spoken up for educators last June, she posted a note thanking the teachers at her children’s school for the role they played in raising them. Her message? Gratitude for teachers never goes out of style.

See Jennifer’s full tribute and the storybook her librarian saved all these years.
