Nigerian fashion designer Oluwaseun Kuforiji has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest sewing marathon. Over 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds, Kuforiji hand-sewed 22 items, a remarkable feat that took place in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The “sew-a-thon,” as it was called, saw the designer crafting intricate garments, including a full Agbada within the first six hours, to promote fashion craftsmanship and inspire creativity.

Kuforiji shared his excitement on social media, emphasizing that the achievement was more than just the time spent sewing—it was a testament to perseverance, skill, and the power of believing in one’s craft. “From crafting a full Agbada in the first 6 hours to completing 18 outfits, this journey has been nothing short of incredible,” he captioned his announcement. Kuforiji’s accomplishment is not only a personal victory but also a significant contribution to the fashion industry, showcasing the dedication behind handmade artistry.
