Not having Instagram followers hindered me – Deyemi Okanlawon

Deyemi shares how a low number of Instagram followers influenced his career.

In the latest episode of the Echo Room Podcast hosted by Quincy Jonze, Deyemi Okanlawon revealed how he was rejected by many producers because he didn’t have a strong social media presence.

He went ahead to explain how the narrative turned around in his favor when he was invited by Funke Akindele and Kunle Afolayan to work on their projects.

Things got even better when he was featured in Omo Ghetto: The Saga, and because he was the lead actor in the highest-grossing movie at the time, he also became the highest-grossing actor.

Even though Deyemi Okanlawon was limited by his social media presence, he did not give up on his dream of being great. Now, Deyemi is doing amazingly well in his career, which is quite inspiring.
