Tunde Onakoya Takes on 70-Hour Chess Marathon to Break World Record

From Lagos to Times Square, one man is using chess to build a future for Africa’s homeless children.

Tunde Onakoya is back at it and this time, he’s going even harder. Just last year, he broke the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon at 60 hours. Now, he’s aiming for 70 straight hours of non-stop chess right in the heart of Times Square, New York.

But this isn’t just about setting another record. Tunde is using this moment to raise $1 million to build a free school for homeless kids in Nigeria a cause that’s close to his heart. He’s joined by chess champ Shawn Martinez and five kids from his Chess in Slums program, two of whom have already played over 5 hours straight.

History is being made once again and it’s live. Join the energy and watch Tunde in action below.
